Programs Overview

What is Soccer Stars program philosophy and purpose?

Parents and me     Super Soccer Stars     Soccer stars united

Our mission is to empower kids through soccer and sports by teaching them how to have fun while learning the fundamentals. We use soccer to nurture, build self-confidence, and develop teamwork in a positive environment.

What makes Soccer Stars right for my child when compared to other programs?

There are several aspects of Soccer Stars that makes our program unique and stand out from other youth sport providers:

– Low kid-to-coach ratio. This allows each player to receive individual attention during class and advance at their own pace.

– Age-specific curriculum. Some programs tout this feature but then group multiple age groups together during the early childhood classes. This is not the Soccer Stars way. In our youngest classes, your child will play with other children who are within 1 year of their own age and have specific lesson plans built to their developmental needs. Our older players will also enjoy playing with other children of a similar age during their classes.

– Crib-to-College Player Pathway. Starting with our Parent & Me classes at the age of 12mo+ and leading to our high school travel teams, Soccer Stars can support your player at every stage of their soccer journey. Here is what our player pathway looks like:

     > Parent & Me – Ages 12mo to 3

     > Super Soccer Stars – Ages 3 to 12

     > Soccer Stars United Development – U5 to U12

     > Soccer Stars United Travel – U8 to U18

– Highly trained and certified coaches, with ongoing training. We employ the best youth soccer coaches in the country. What makes our team so great is our ongoing coach training and certification. Each season, every coach is reviewed multiple times by our Coaching Department to make sure all coaches are up to date with the latest trends and information. We also incentivize our coaches to reach higher levels of coach status within the company, through specific goal-setting and national certifications.

Is there a certain skill level my child needs to be at to participate?

Absolutely not. Whether a beginner or ready for competitive play, Soccer Stars has a program that is appropriate for your child. Many of our program ages overlap so that you and your child can be comfortable with the level of play during your session. Here is an overview of our program offerings:

     > Parent & Me – Ages 12mo to 3: A pre-soccer music and movement program for toddlers ages 1-2. This fun-filled class – taught by experienced instructors and their puppet friends, Mimi and Pepe – focuses on balance, coordination, upper and lower-body exercises, cognitive skills, and more.

     > Super Soccer Stars – Ages 3 to 12: The classic youth soccer program that teaches the fundamentals of the sport in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment. Our unique curricula use positive reinforcement and a low child-to-coach ratio to make sure each child feels supported and confident in his or her own abilities, allowing kids to improve at their own rate.

     > Soccer Stars United Development – U5 to U12: Development is the natural continuation and advanced program of Super Soccer Stars. Players are gradually introduced to new technical skills, tactical elements, and team concepts as they improve soccer skills and reach program milestones.

     > Soccer Stars United Travel – U8 to U18: A soccer program unlike any other, with a philosophy centered on providing a nurturing yet challenging environment that encourages every player to express themselves, be creative and take educated risks on the field. The program focuses on developing character, communication, game insight, technique, and fitness skills.

Dynamic coaches work with small groups of boys and girls to develop these skills and teamwork in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment. Each week we focus on learning a new skill with fun activities and drills. Class Details

Development & Travel

What is Soccer Stars United’s program philosophy ?

Soccer stars united

Soccer Stars United has a dual philosophy; fostering a lifelong passion for the game of soccer while maintaining a specific focus on player development. We create an environment where players can learn, develop and fall in love with game of soccer regardless of their skill-level. Whilst we challenge players, our coaches create an environment that is FUN, making players want to return.

Tell me more about Soccer Stars United approach.

Soccer Stars United focuses on developing key individual 1v1 techniques, improving players’ employment of skills at speed, and developing the confidence to unlock each player’s true potential. We understand that player development is not an exact science and can be messy.

Players develop at different speeds – we take into account emotional, cognitive and physical development.

– Low player-to-coach ratio. This allows each player to receive individual attention during class and advance at their own pace.

– Developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our coaches meet players where they are. We do not have a one-size fits all approach. Having evaluated areas of growth for each player, we challenge players and get them outside their comfort zone.

What is the minimum number of players in a group?

We can work with 1 player for a 1-on-1 session, and have up to a maximum of 10 players in each group.

Do you offer position specific training for more advanced players?

Yes – we can tailor sessions to focus on specific areas of the game. For example; goal scoring, attacking, midfield play, ball mastery, defending etc

Do you offer Goal Keeper training?

Yes we do.

Is there a certain skill level my child needs to be at to participate?

In order for the experience to be as beneficial as possible for each player, we expect that participants have some prior experience of soccer. This does not mean they have to have a certain skill level, only that they are a total beginner.

Class Details

How old does my child have to be to participate?

We work with girls and boys from aged 4 and up.

How long are the classes?

Each session is 60 minutes. We can extend if the coach feels it is developmentally appropriate.

What will they be doing and learning during a training session?

Session 1 will be used to evaluate the skill-level of each player and the group as a whole. Following the 1st session, the coach will design an appropriate development plan.

Do players need any equipment to participate?

We ask that players bring a ball, shin guards and water.

Will the group play games during the training session?

Yes – there will be an opportunity to play games; however these will be small-sided to maximize touches on the ball and involvement. Our philosophy is that players learn best through playing the game.

Will the same coach teach my child every week?

Consistency is important in a player’s level of comfort and development from week to week. As such, we strive to maintain the same coach every week; however, there are instances when a coach will have to be substituted due to scheduling conflicts or other personal requests.

Should parents stay for the session?

For ages 13 and below, we ask that at least 1 caregiver stays in the vicinity of the field. We ask that parents do not stand next to the training session as this often pressurizes the players and increases anxiety. We want players free to make mistakes and open to learning from them – having a parent present can limit a player’s willingness to express themselves.

Do you have development programs and travel programs for more competitive level soccer?

Scrimmage Games

What is Scrimmage Games?

Scrimmage Games is an opportunity for players to come and just play soccer. We feel the game is the best coach and Scrimmage Games allows players to practice the skills they have been learning in our Super Soccer Stars classes.

Why Scrimmage Games?

We play 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 to allow maximum touches on the ball and more goals. Our professional coaches oversee games, however they keep coaching instructions to a minimum. Using teaching moments in the game, coaches use discovery questions to help players develop. This is an opportunity for players to just play the game and have fun. As well as soccer development, our coaches strive to educate players on the power of always working hard, getting outside their comfort zone, being coachable, humility, playing with class and being a good teammate.

How old does my child have to be to participate?

We offer Scrimmage Games for ages 4-12.

Is there a certain skill level my child needs to be at to participate?

All levels are welcome to participate.

How long are the sessions?

Total Duration is 75 minutes — this is broken down in 15 minutes skill warm-up and then games of 15 minutes. There will be time for players to take a break over the 75 min session.

Do I need any equipment for my child to participate?

Players should bring a ball and a water bottle. We provide each player with 2 x pinnies.

Do you keep scores?

No we do not keep track of the scoreline. As soccer educators we know that the scoreline does not tell the full story – a team can win and play badly. Moreover we encourage players to try new skills, express themselves, work hard and learn from mistakes. Even though we are not keeping score, our coaches will challenge players to be the best they can be.

Do you offer skill classes?

Yes! We offer a year round program of age-appropriate, curriculm based skill classes. Players are encouraged to work on their skills in a class with one of our professional coaches and then try to use them in the Scrimmage Games matches.

Is Scrimmage Series Coed?

At present we only offer a coed option.

Absolutely! We do have some recommendations to make sure you have the best possible experience:

Set up a tripod or other stable way to maintain your camera’s position. Holding your laptop or mobile device while your child plays can create a lot of extra movement in your stream and takes away from your overall experience as well.

As you move outside, you tend to move further away from your home wifi connection. Change your settings to run on cellular data, service permitting, to help maintain a more consistent connection

Do I need any equipment for my child to participate?

Check out the Soccer Stars @ Home Kit in our Online Store

No equipment, no problem! While our coaches may use a soccer ball and cones, they will also suggest a variety of household items that can be used for each lesson.

No, the class is recorded during the session, so children can review sessions afterward. These recorded sessions can serve as refreshers or for children to go back and do the class again or become on-demand content for those who did not attend the class in the first place.

How are you securing Soccer Stars @HOME Virtual Classes through Zoom?

  • All of our Zoom links are part of the enterprise version and are only sent to the parents enrolled in the class.

We have a Host coach and a Co-Host that administers the sessions.

Anyone entering a class is put into a waiting room until, the host coach and co-host admit them.

The co-host is there to manage the video feed, so they stop streaming, mute, or remove any person that is behaving inappropriately.

We will lock the class after 10 minutes of the start time.

Mobile Apps

What is the Famer App?

Famer is a sports coaching & mentorship mobile app that hosts the Soccer Stars digital programs on your mobile device. The Famer app enables personalized training programs and promotes interactive gameplay between parents/ athletes.

How do I subscribe to the Digital Programs?

Purchase your Backyard Games Subscription as an add-on to your class registration during enrollment, or from our Online Store. You will receive a purchase confirmation email once completed.

Can I sign up for both Backyard Games and Skills & Drills?

Yes – but this will require two separate Famer accounts, linked to separate phone numbers.

Please share a second cell phone number that can be used to associate with your second program.

Both programs feature unique content that does not overlap – get your game on with Backyard Games, while you train up with Skills & Drills! Purchase your Backyard Games and/or Skills & Drills Subscription as an add-on to your class registration during enrollment, or from our Online Store. You will receive a purchase confirmation email once completed.

Is the Backyard Games content more suitable for older or younger children?

Backyard Games can be played by kids young and old! Our basic instructions suit the needs of younger kids’ activity, while coaches also provide fun rules and challenges added into games in order to keep older kids’ interest as well.

What will my kid(s) learn from the Backyard Games curriculum?

By teaching and playing our Backyard Games, parents can help kids with skill-building and spend quality time together! Learn the fundamentals of soccer: dribbling, passing, and changing directions – all while having FUN!

How do I track my child’s progress in Skills & Drills?

Each week in the Famer app you will be able to see if your child has fulfilled their different drill workouts. Parents are encouraged to try drills together with players too!

How do I know my subscription has been processed?

If you signed up for Famer, you will receive an SMS Text Message and Email alert within the next business day that your profile has been successfully created and you will be able to log-on to Famer in the app.

Why isn’t the content immediately available?

Our subscription process is manual – please allow at least 1 business day before you can jump into your season.

What happens if I sign up after the season has already begun?

If you sign up for Backyard Games or Skills & Drills after the week of 1/11/2021, you will still be able to access content from previous weeks. Scroll back in your workout calendar in the Famer App, and replay any sessions that you may have missed!

What should I use if I do not have the equipment listed in the tutorial videos?

Check out the Soccer Stars @ Home Kit in our Online Store! Or, you can utilize household items in place of soccer gear. (i.e. laundry basket or cardboard box instead of a goal, water bottles or plastic cups instead of cones)

Does my child need to be enrolled in Soccer Stars or Soccer Stars United classes to participate?

No – while Backyard Games is fun & energetic additions to any weekly Soccer Stars class, you are able to subscribe separately from class enrollment in our Online Store.

Are games for indoor or outdoor play?

Backyard Games can be played outdoors OR indoors! We’ve created each game with a small playspace in mind, so if you don’t have access to an outdoor space, you can still enjoy games from the safety and comfort of your home.

What Is the HomeCourt App?

We’ve partnered with HomeCourt so players can train in an interactive soccer app that takes your skills to the next level. It’s the personal skills trainer that’s always with you, capturing your performance, and providing you with guided feedback.

What are the ideal playing conditions for HomeCourt AI?

HomeCourt’s mobile AI works in a wide variety of conditions, indoors and outdoors. For the most accurate camera recognition, play in a well lit environment with only 1 soccer player.

How do I position my device to play?

Mount your device to a tripod low to the ground, tilted upward so your full body is in view. Your movements will be tracked by the front-facing camera: be sure that you can see your feet and soccer ball clearly on the screen.

No tripod? Just rest your device on the ground, leaning against an object or wall for back support.

How do I get Audio Feedback?

While recording, tap on the volume icon on the top left to make sure volume is turned on.

To customize your audio feedback, tap on the settings or Shot Science icon on the bottom left while recording. Select Makes, Attempts, Accuracy, or In A Row to hear those categories.

Do I need any special equipment to play?

HomeCourt is completely free to use and requires no sensors, special cameras, or so called “smart” balls. All you need is a soccer ball and an iPhone or iPad.

Is HomeCourt available on Android Devices?

HomeCourt currently is not available on Android Devices. The HomeCourt team plans to bring their App to Android at some point but do not have a set timeline. Please fill out this quick survey to be notified when HomeCourt has arrived on Android.

Are there discounts for enrolling multiple children?

Yes. We love it when we can have more family members to join our programs. Please text “Siblings” to (732) 314-6262 to receive the sibling discount code for use at check out. It will be for 5% off the class price for every enrolled child in your family. Discount is not applicable for monthly billing.

What if my child falls between 2 different age groups?

Due to the nature of our age-specific program, there may be instances where your child might fall between 2 different age groups, especially during the early childhood ages of 3-6. Our program focuses on certain developmental milestones, not necessarily the size and height of the child, to determine class placement. While we generally suggest enrolling in the earlier age group within the overlap for new players, our coaches can evaluate your child and make recommendations and help facilitate if moving up to the next age group would be appropriate.

What happens if there’s a waitlist to join a specific class?

If a program displays “Save My Spot” or ” Join Waitlist”, that means that particular class spots are full, but a spot may open up. Because the waiting list is first-come, first-serve, we highly recommend that you complete the waiting list registration form to reserve a spot in case of an opening. There is no obligation and you will not pay for the registration at that time. If a spot opens up, you will be contacted and full payment will be expected to secure your spot.

I just registered for a program, now what?

Congratulations! You will receive a confirmation email that your application has been received, and a second email once your application has been processed. You are not formally enrolled until your application has been processed. About a week before your class is set to begin, you will receive a first-class email as a reminder of class location and times, as well as other pertinent information regarding the start of the season.

How do I find my coach or class location?

You will have received a class confirmation or first class email detailing information on your class location, where you will meet the coach. However, if you want a more specific Map pin, on the website you will find a location link in blue under your class.

What is your make-up policy?

If you miss a class, we offer 1 free makeup contingent to availability. If you would like to register for a makeup class please check out our Class Schedule and Text Us at (332)228-6931 or click the Live Chat icon to book your makeup.

Yes! You can transfer into any class/location for the same age group that works for you and your Soccer Star. Any difference in pricing can be charged/credited as appropriate. The Customer Advocacy Team will be available to assist.

What if my child does not like the class?

It is common for many children to have a “warming up” period when starting a new class or with a new coach. If your child is having any issues, please communicate with us and we will do everything in our power to help with their adjustment. Sometimes it might be as simple as making the coach aware so they can provide some extra attention. Depending on the situation, it may be best to move the child to a different class, which we are also happy to help facilitate.

How does recurring billing work for in-person and virtual classes?

For Subscription Services you may cancel your Subscription at any time (unless otherwise indicated in an enrollment agreement for such Subscription) with the cancellation taking into effect at the end of the billing cycle during which we receive your notice of cancellation. This means that if you cancel in the middle of the month, you will be charged for the full month. You have a 5-7 day grace period to cancel before the start of the next billing cycle. Click here to cancel your monthly billing.

IMPORTANT: To prevent ongoing billing, you need to cancel through our Contact Us form otherwise you subscription will auto-renew.

Our coaches are thoroughly vetted during a multi-stage interview process. All of our coaching candidates come with either coaching or early childhood experience and pass state and federal background checks.

How do you train your coaches?

What makes our coaching team the best in the world is our ongoing coach training and certification. Each season, every coach is reviewed multiple times by our Coaching Department to make sure all coaches are up to date with the latest trends and information. We also incentivize our coaches to reach higher levels of coaching status within the company, through specific goal-setting and national certifications.

Soccer Ball – Any round ball, rolled up pair of socks, paper & tape ball

Tall Cone – water bottle, plastic cups, lego tower

Flat Cone – plastic bowl, small pillow, folded towel

Spots – Paper plate, shirt, piece of paper

Goal – Cardboard box, laundry basket, pair of sneakers against the wall

What does my child need to wear or bring to class?

Most importantly, your child should be comfortable. Seasonally appropriate athletic wear is recommended, with secure footwear required (lace-up or velcro – nothing that will slip off their feet or that has exposed toes). If a shirt or jersey was included with your enrollment, we also recommend you wear it to class each week. Children are asked to bring a water bottle to class as well.

While all equipment is normally provided, we are currently asking children to bring their own soccer ball to class in an effort to limit touchpoints amongst each participant.
